Hard Candy Holiday Collection: $1 Stocking Stuffers!

Yes, you read that correctly. Hard Candy has $1 stocking stuffers. But here is the kicker: they are actually really good! Of course they are just minis of products they already have, but still. They are a great concept and you can gift a lot of makeup for cheap! I’ve been putting these products through the test over the last couple of weeks and I am impressed. I have a nice array of the Hard Candy Holiday Collection, but I don’t have any of the primers. I don’t know if my store just didn’t have them out yet or if they sold out that quickly. I’m going to talk about each product individually, starting with the eyeshadows.

Hard Candy Holiday Collection: Look! Pro Mini Eyeshadow Palettes

Hard Candy Holiday Collection

Eyeshadows are my favorite beauty product, and I am such a sucker for warm tones. Needless to say, I had to have these and test them out for you. Hard Candy makes both of these palettes in full size versions, and I actually do own them. For whatever reason, I just don’t use them. That is going to change, though. Once I find out where I actually put them. First is the Look! Pro Rose Gold Palette. As the name suggests, it is just rose gold goodness.

You get 4 metallic shades (champagne, golden pink, bronze, and cranberry) as well as 2 mattes, a black and a warm rosy neutral. The metallic shades are a bit chunky, but they apply well and look gorgeous on the eyes.  The two mattes do need to built up, but they layer nicely and blend pretty well.

Next is the mini Look! Pro Matte Eyeshadow Palette. This palette has 5 warm toned matte shades and one cool brown. There is a matte cream, matte tan, matte light orange, mate warm brown, matte cranberry, and a matte cooler toned chocolate brown. Like I mentioned above, these mattes will need to be built up some. But the end result is really pretty and they blend pretty well. The only shade I had to work with a little bit in terms of blending was the red color.

Each one has a nice texture. They don’t feel too dry and they aren’t chalky. They are a teensy bit powdery, but I haven’t had any issues with fallout. Because each of these palettes is $1, they are a little small. They aren’t tiny by any means, but if you use them everyday, the shadows will be gone pretty quickly. The packaging is surprisingly sturdy and you do get a small mirror, so they would pretty handy for travel.

Here is a pretty basic cut crease look that I did last week using both palettes. I think it turned out really well! I did have to spend some time applying and blending the red shade in the crease, but it eneded up looking really nice. The quality of the picture isn’t the best, but you get the idea.

Hard Candy Holiday Collection: Party Girl Bronzer

Hard Candy Holiday Collection

Like everything is in this post, this bronzer is available in full size. Considering this is only $1, I think it will actually last awhile. I love this bronzer. It is a marbleized baked bronzer and it has a good bit of color payoff. Because I am so fair, I am very picky with the undertones of a bronzer. If they are really warm, it is a no go. This isn’t cool, but it isn’t too warm, either. It really does make me look nicely bronzed without looking orange.

I have to be careful with it, though. Party Girl also has a bit of sheen. It isn’t shimmer or glitter. It just gives a nice glow to your skin and gives it a little something extra. Oh, and it smells like hot cooca. I’m sure you have smelled the Too Faced Chocolate Bar. The scent is similar to that, but I think it is even better. Out of everything I talk about in this post, this will be what I get the most use out of for sure.

Hard Candy Holiday Collection: Girl Next Door Blush

Hard Candy Holiday Collection

I’m also picky with blushes. They can go from cute to clown on me really quickly. Hard Candy’s Girl Next Door Blush has a beautiful blend of color and sheerness. I can apply a quick wash of color for the softest kiss of rose or I can build it up to something more colorful, but still flattering. You would have to apply a good bit to make this blush look bad. Like the above bronzer, it is baked a marbleized. Girl Next Door is a sheer pink with a touch of sheen. It applies and blends beautifully! Like the bronzer, this blush has a scent. It is supposed to smell like strawberries, but it reminds me of these scented pencils I bought from my school store when I was a kid. I think any other 90s kids out there will recognize the scent. It isn’t unpleasant, but it doesn’t smell as delectable as the bronzer.

Hard Candy Holiday Collection: Glamour Girl Highlighter

Hard Candy Holiday Collection

This is a beautiful highlighter! I don’t think it is quite right for my skintone, though. I have to apply the bare minimum or it looks more like a shadow instead of a highlight. Otherwise, it does give a more subtle golden sheen. It does feel a little bit chalky and I feel like you have some texture, it would enhance it. This one has a pina colade scent, which I do not like at all. It is very sweet and synthetic. The other highlight they have, Girl Boss, is amazing. That one is full size, but if you can find it, I recommend it.

Hard Candy Holiday Collection: Brows Now All In One Brow Kit

Hard Candy Holiday Collection

I think it is really cool that Hard Candy even did a $1 brow kit, and you get a decent amount of product. The only downside is that it comes in one shade. There are two shades of brown in here, though. One is a bit more ashy and the other is a bit warmer and darker. There is also a wax. I prefer brow pencils or gels, but this is good! It has good pigment and it applies easily. I don’t see where the wax does very much, though. It feels to soft and wet to really keep brows in place.

Last but least is their matte setting spray, and this really does make you look matte. I have oily skin and I find that it even mattifies a bit too much for my liking. The nozzle isn’t the best, but it isn’t the worst I have tried. It applies quite smoothly and the mist is pretty fine. It doesn’t shoot giant globs of product at you and your skin doesn’t look like you’ve been swimming. Based on that, I am curious to try out some of their other sprays.

In the above picture, I am using all of the products mentioned in this post. I LOVE how this look turned out, although the crease shades could have been blended a little better. Aside from that, I think this look looks even better than those I have done with higher end products. I also used the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in Starfire and the lipstick is Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lipstick in Prettiest Pink. Pixi did send me all of the shades and I will be doing a post on them sometime in the near future.

I do absolutley recommend trying out all of Hard Candy’s $1 stocking stuffers. They do make all of these in full sizes (except for the brow kit), so this is a great way to test them out before comitting to the large ones. They also just make a great gift. For around $10, you can nearly get a full look. You can find these at Walmart right now. They are in the section with all of the other beauty gift sets, which is usually in the front of the store. Hard Candy is also a cruelty free brand. I hope you enjoyed this post! I am trying to get all of my Holiday reviews up ASAP!
