Maybelline Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches

By now, the Maybelline Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette technically isn’t new. It was launched on Amazon a while back, then online at various retailers, and it is FINALLY making its way into stores. I’ve been eyeing this palette for a few months and I am happy to finally have it. It is different than a lot of palettes at the drugstore right now because it has some great pops of color. The shade range is fantastic.

Formulation of the Maybelline Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette

The overall feel of the shadows reminds me of the City Mini Palettes in that they are very soft and buttery. Ice Pop is a little bit drier than the others, but that is to be expected because reds and pinks are more challenging to do. It still feels nice, though. The pigment does leave a little bit to be desired, but they can be built up and I have gotten some gorgeous looks out of the palette. A few of the shades, especially Lemonade Craze, look a little bit chalky. The thing I am most impressed with so far is how well they blend. The shades are easy to work with in terms of blending and they don’t become a muddy mess. As long as you are patient when building them up, I think you will be happy with the looks you can achieve. There is only one shade that produces a ton of fallout and that is Old Fashioned. Luckily it brushes right away with a powder brush and it doesn’t leave any powdery residue behind.

The wear time of the shadows is good, too. I have worn the shadows for 8 or more hours in high heat and humidity with absolutely no issue. They look just as good at the end of the day as they do at the beginning.

Eyeshadow Looks Using the Maybelline Lemonade Craze Palette

I have done quite a few looks with this palette and I love them all. I did have to build up the colors a little bit, but they blend so well.

Overall, I like this palette and enjoy using it. The quality isn’t necessarily the best, but with a little patience and some blending, you can get some beautiful looks with it. I found mine at Walgreens and it was around $11. If possible, I would wait for a sale to purchase it. Maybelline is releasing a similar palette for the fall with berry and purple tones, so I can’t wait for that one.
