Cover Girl TruNaked Peach Punch Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches

At this point in my beauty journey, I’ve learned that there are certain products from every drugstore brand that I just need to stay away from. No matter how many chances I give them, they just never work. This applies to Cover Girl eyeshadows, but I just couldn’t resist their new Peach Punch eyeshadow palette. I tracked it down at Walmart and I’ve been swatching and trying it out for you. Keep reading to see the Cover Girl TruNaked Peach Punch eyeshadow palette review and swatches.

Shade Range

This is a mostly neutral palette with a few pops of peachy colors, and it definitely leans more on the warm side. There are four matte shades (peach, chocolate brown, light peachy cream, and a terra cotta shade), and four metallic shades (pink with golden shimmer, champagne, plum, and golden brown). At first glance, it looks like it would be a great palette for summer.

Formula and Pigment

These shadows are incredibly soft and buttery. Normally, that is a good thing. But not in this case. You have to be careful to avoid breaking them and because they are so soft, they blend into nothing. They are also pretty powdery, so you will have to watch it for kickback and fallout. The shadows switch nicely enough, but once they are applied with a brush, they don’t look anywhere near as pigmented. Blending them also reduces the color payoff, so you are ultimately left with a muddy looking mess. The shadows don’t crease, but they do fade throughout the day. The Cover Girl TruNaked Peach Punch Palette is scented, which is something new for the drugstore. The scent is similar to the Too Faced peach palette, but it is a little sweeter and stronger. I can still smell the peach scent after application, so that is something you need to be aware of.

Long story short, I would say save your $10. It isn’t awful palette, but it certainly isn’t something I would reach for again so I cannot recommend it. If you are interested, you can find this palette at Walmart. They also have testers, so you can swatch it and see if it is something that would work for you.
